Scam & Phishing 2025 - McAfee

The McAfee suite of products was able to achieve a good balance when convicting malicious attacks and false positives. While it issued a false positive request on a legitimate money request through Starling bank, using the same “Share payment link” feature through online banks such as Monzo or Revolut was handled correctly.

The products strengths lie in quick and clear responses. In our tests, the AI assisted results provided decisive verdicts. By minimising ambiguity in the language or the way products deliver verdicts it severely reduces the risk of user misinterpretation. This is highlighted in the S rating when dealing with Scams specifically.

Overall the cohesion of the components offer dependable protection for its users achieving an A rating in a challenging iteration of this test.
